Equal Rights

Russia is a country where people can live equally, but not always has been like this, the country has gone through many changes. Life in Russia was not as good as in other Europe countries. When the socialism came, the Russian government provided the law in 1980th where it was said about the same rights between women and men. Although, it was not as same as history tells us about that fact. Women did have the same rights for education (it was free at that time) and job, but they did have lack in field of acquiring job. The salary was not the same as men had for the similar labor they were doing. And another important point which is written nowhere because of a big shame and lack of the same law is that women most of the time had to do the same hard work as men did. Irina's Grandmother (Irina, a russian girl) had to work in a construction of buildings doing the same job as men. It’s actually could be ridiculous to hear if men and women are equal, so people, please do the same things! Although, Russian women accepted that: they had no choice at that time. The communistic country did not feel sorry for anybody.
Nowadays the things have not changed so much but they became better. Men and women are able to work in the same job for the same salary. But female people cannot have a job that risks their lives or their future babies' life.
Thanks to all these changes Rusia has now a better equality between men and women.

  4. I had always thought Russian women didn't have the same rights than men and less that they earn the same salary than men. Thanks for your blog, because it was so useful for my knowledge.

  6. Strange, but somewhat more common, the fact that education began by social class to which one belonged! Thankfully today things have changed!

  8. I like that Russian's women know that education is really important. Maybe that is one of differences between some other countries that are similar. I am sure that most women are professionals and in an advanced level.

  14. It doesn’t impress me the fact that the salary wasn’t equal between men and women, because it’s something that we stopped living only a few years ago in this country. Also, I think it’s fine if they give women the same job opportunities, probably taking more care that nothing can happen to them, but that it’s a clear proof that the opportunities as equal for all.

  15. As in another places !!! the rights are not equals!. Even here in chile, there are some places where the salaty is lower than men's. I don't know, but sometimes I think that men are afraid that women take all the jobs and all the important things that humans have to do... so they won't be able to do something better.! Or maybe I'm thinking silly things , but I want to say that I really liked the information in the blog, It's really cool !
